We’re looking for (not all required) 

  • Produce well-organized, optimized, and documented source code 
  • Work equally effectively independently or in concert with other members of the Aircraft Systems Team  
  • Develop unit and system level tests using simulated or real hardware, including internal tool development and integration 
  • Assist with software development and deployment processes  
  • Provide support to other functional groups within FLYHT  
  • Continuously learn and improve skills – keeping up with new and current technology 
  • Work to develop estimates for assigned software development activities  
  • On time execution of assigned deliverables 

Experience & Skills 

  • Must be in an accredited co-op or intern program  
  • Completing a diploma or degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline 
  • Knowledge and understanding of different development methodologies, practices and tools such as code repositories, testing frameworks, release practices, continuous integration, and automated build servers  
  • Knowledge of various high level programming languages like C, C++ and Python 

Assets (not required but would be looked at as differentiators) 

  • Knowledge of aeronautic industry  
  • Experience with satellite-based communication products  
  • Experience with cellular and/or Bluetooth based communication products  
  • Experience in DevOps

We’re looking for (not all required) 

  • Provide assistance and support to the Aircraft Certification Engineer team working on creating, for example, aircraft wiring diagrams, wire routing drawings, cable harness drawings, aircraft installation drawings, aircraft electrical load analysis, systems substantiation reports, system/aircraft test procedures, weight & balance amendments, installation instructions, flight manual supplements, instruction for continued airworthiness, and engineering orders 
  • Assist in troubleshooting of problems 
  • Assist with creating and checking engineering documents 
  • Assist in the creation of applications for regulatory approvals 
  • Have a continual improvement mindset – always looking at ways to make work/processes more efficient 

Experience & Skills 

  • Must be in an accredited co-op or intern program  
  • Enrolled in a diploma or degree program in Avionics, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Proficient or good working knowledge in AutoCAD Electrical or Draftsight
  • Knowledge of Transport Canada, FAA and EASA regulations

Assets (not required but would be looked at as differentiators) 

  • Basic Understanding of Aircraft Systems
  • Knowledge of and experience with common aircraft data buses such as ARINC 717 and ARINC 429
  • Experience with FAR 25 or equivalent regulations;
  • Systems integration experience (FMS, Audio, etc.) on fixed wing aircraft;
  • Experience on commercial aircraft;
  • Experience with design change certification.
  • Working knowledge on SOLIDWORKS 3D Modelling will be considered an Asset

We’re looking for (not all required)

  • Extensive coding experience is required. Mainly in C and Python but knowledge of C++/Java/Java Script/Bash Scripting/Visual Basic and others are considered an asset. We apply the best tool for the job
  • Experience with Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, Yocto and OpenWRT
  • Support of Linux and RTOS BSPs
  • Development of unit tests and system testing software tools using simulated or real hardware
  • GIT, CI/CD
  • Good knowledge and understanding of different development methodologies, practices and tools such as code repositories, testing frameworks, release practices, continuous integration, and automated build servers
  • Successful track record of implementing embedded software products

Assets (not required but would be looked at as differentiators)

  • Knowledge of aeronautic industry
  • Knowledge of avionic software development guidelines (DO-178, DO-278)
  • Experience with satellite-based communication protocols
  • Experience with cellular and/or Bluetooth based communication products.
  • Experience in test automation and automated code coverage analysis
  • Knowledge of and experience with common aircraft data buses such as ARINC 717 and ARINC 429
  • Experience simulating connected devices and systems
  • Internet of Things (IoT) experience: interfacing with sensors and moving that data into the cloud (AWS IOT Greengrass experience is especially an asset)
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification
  • Remote system management (firmware management)
  • Experience building Lambda functions
