Improve Dispatch Reliability

Your customers want reliable, safe, and affordable flights and expect a streamlined and positive flying experience.

Managing fleet operations is increasingly challenging in today’s competitive aviation market. To balance elevated customer expectations with increases to fuel, labour, and maintenance costs, you need to proactively optimize your operations based on real-time, situational business intelligence. Keep your aircraft flying with confidence with insights from AFIRS.

A valued essential communications platform, the AFIRS 228 family of Satcom solutions have a proven track record of reliability. With designed robustness the AFIRS 228 has measured reliability of greater than 30,000 hours of flying mean-time-between-failure (MTBF).

With a separate Aircraft Configuration Module (ACM), system configuration information and user-stored information is contained in a removable SIM card, making AFIRS products a true line replaceable solution for maximum fleet management optimization and reduced maintenance and spares costs.

A solution that improves the reliability of your fleet while being one of the most reliable means of communication.

Lower Your Operating Costs

Modernize your heavy, antiquated dual HF system, upgrade to Single HF and Satcom.

Managing changing and increased regulations and requirements also means finding solutions that can solve multiple problems at the same time. Many aircraft have heavy, antiquated dual HF systems to comply with the requirements FAA Advisory Circular AC 20-150B requiring aircraft to have redundant long range communication systems (LRCS).

Upgrading to FLYHT’s AFIRS 228 Satcom voice solution reduces weight, saves on fuel costs and provide reliable, clear voice to the cockpit. Updated crew assignments, crew repositioning, and tail swaps can be sent to the aircraft directly in real-time. The satellite phone and text messaging capabilities are highly useful in managing diversions due to weather, mechanical occurrences, and other unforeseen situations.

Enhance Fleet Communications

Low installation costs coupled with low service fee options turns on a high-value communication channel with your crews worldwide.

AFIRS provides reliable data with low latency to ensure continuous and compliant communications. The AFIRS CAN-TSO-C159b Iridium Satcom solution provides the aircraft with reliable FANS 1/A, ADS-C, CPDLC and ACARS over Iridium messaging capabilities. Benefits offered by FANS include: more efficient route structure, reduced flight times, reduced fuel burns, and enhanced communications between ATC and the aircraft.

AFIRS can be configured to provide access to FLYHT two-way text messaging to and from the flight deck using the aircraft’s own MCDU (multifunction control and display unit) or integrated into an iPad―without the need for an MCDU.
