Claim Dismissed by Star Navigation Systems Group Ltd. and Change in Staff Announced

CALGARY–AeroMechanical Services Ltd. (“AMA”), a leading service provider of aircraft health and performance monitoring systems, announced that Star Navigation Systems Group Ltd. (“SNA”) has dismissed its patent infringement case against AMA in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California (the “Court”). This dismissal by Star comes on the eve of a Court hearing scheduled March 27, 2009 to hear arguments regarding AMA’s motion to dismiss. The Court had already dismissed two of Star’s previous complaints on April 8, 2008 and August 18, 2008.

CALGARY, Aug. 19 /CNW/ – AeroMechanical Services Ltd. (“AMA”), is pleased to announce that the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of
California (the “U.S. District Court”) has granted its motion to dismiss and
has dismissed Star Navigation Systems Group’s (“Star”) patent infringement
complaint against AMA for a second time. The Court agreed with AMA that Star
failed to properly join the two co–owners of the patent – Viraf Kapadia and
Hilary Vieira –– in the lawsuit.

    CALGARY, Dec. 24 /CNW/ – AeroMechanical Services Ltd. (“AMA”) announced today that Star Navigation Systems Group, Ltd. (“Star”) has taken the extraordinary step of amending its complaint to withdraw several claims of
infringement only months after it had asserted those claims against AMA in
September 2007. Star’s patent infringement case is now limited to allegations
concerning the apparatus claims in the U.S. Patent No. 7,113,852 (“the ’852
patent”). AMA has filed a second motion to dismiss the amended complaint filed
by Star in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
