Real-time FDM for FOQA

Proactive Maintenance of Aircraft, Engines and Life Limited Parts

With our real-time FDM and built-in Quick Access Recorder (QAR) you are advised with pinpoint accuracy when you need to pull detailed QAR data from a plane for further analysis – enabling quality assurance and risk mitigation. The AFIRS product line captures in-flight parameters, as defined by you, and notifies you in real-time when an exceedance has occurred. No need to wait for the QAR card to be downloaded or for outside personnel to de-code the data from an incident that may have occurred several days prior.

Real-time alerts from our AFIRSTM device will increase both the efficiency and effectiveness of your FOQA
program. With real-time FDM alerts you no longer need to look through an entire flight in order to see if an incident has occurred. You will know in advance exactly when and where to look for incidents that require further investigation.

Real-time FDM alerts also enable proactive maintenance of your aircraft, engines and life-limited parts. Instead of waiting for QAR reports – that can be delayed by days or weeks after an incident – maintenance has instant awareness when an event has occurred that requires investigation. Quick notification results in more opportunities for preventative action.

AFIRS is the only device that has an Embedded Logic Application onboard, allowing you to configure exceedence triggers in any manner you like. Triggers can be set based on OEM limits or you can define your own limits.

AFIRS is bufferable, meaning once an exceedance is triggered, the system is able to send a detailed history of the events leading up to the exceedance and immediately following, which provides instant information needed to launch an investigation, prior to the full QAR file coming in for greater analysis.

Alerts for flight status can be monitored by operations to assist in the development of safety and maintenance policies along with fine-tuning training programs and standard operating procedures. AFIRS helps both maintenance and operations better manage operations through more detailed and instant reporting of pertinent flight data.
