FLYHT is looking for a Requirements Engineer based in either our Littleton, CO or Calgary, Canada office. Position Summary:

The Requirements Engineer clearly defines and manages product and business requirements working with multiple stakeholders. interpret business needs with the intent to translate this knowledge into operational product and The successful candidate will system requirements. The Requirements Engineer works closely with Onboard Equipment and Enterprise software development teams and with the Product Owners to bridge business problems with technology solutions

Responsibilities:

  • Develop product documentation to clearly and concisely capture business requirements for Airborne and Ground systems
  • Participate in the definition of product requirements, and maintain requirement traceability through design, development, and testing stages
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure final product meets business expectations
  • Generate functional and non-functional requirements based on product stories
  • Be accountable for requirements metrics targets
  • Provide technical support for, and generation of system Interface Control documentation
  • Generate and review Test Cases
  • Support initial triage of development software defects

Qualifications

Required:

  • BS Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • 5 plus years of experience in Systems Engineering or Requirements Engineering
  • Ability to provide detailed reviews of complex/technical specifications
  • Experience working in a Requirements Management tool (e.g., Xray, DOORS)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of engineers, managers, executives, support staff, and customers
  • Experience with agile development methodologies
  • General understanding of aircraft systems and maintenance
  • Technical writing skills

Assets:

  • Proficient with JIRS, Confulence, R4J, Xray test management
  • Experience with end-to-end SDLC with Scrum
  • Knowledge of AS9100 Quality Management System – Requirements for Aviation, Space and Defense Organizations
  • Knowledge of aviation standards such as RTCA DO-160, DO-178C, DO-254. DO-262, ARINC 771, ARINC 781, ARINC 834, ARINC618, ARINC619, ARINC620
  • Experience with aircraft Data Busses ARINC717, ARINC429, ASCB, MIL-STD-1553 etc.
  • Knowledge of avionic software development guidelines (DO-178C, DO-278)
  • Understanding of Flight Manuals, Performance Software and other Publications (AFM, AMM, FCOM, QRH, AOM, FPCCM, CAFM, CIFP, SCAPs, EFBs, MMEL, DDG, etc.)
  • Satellite communications experience
