FLYHT’s AFIRS 220 Iridium Global Communication System provides aircraft crew with reliable voice and data services. The AFIRS 220 has an Iridium dual voice and data modem enabling integrated cockpit audio, cordless handsets in the passenger cabin and worldwide two-way data communications.
The AFIRS 220 offers telecom flexibility via conventional 2-wire “Tip and Ring” telephony devices. Up to 2 wired and one cordless handsets can be added in the cabin providing intercom, call transfer, conference calling, camp-on calling and noise cancelling features. This provides the crew with worldwide access to MedAire or other emergency medical services.
The AFIRS 220 has expandable interface capabilities that allow it to connect to numerous aircraft systems. Data based services available through the AFIRS 220 include automated OOOIs, flight following, engine trending, live-FOQA
exceedance reporting, and fuel management. The 220 also functions as a Quick Access Recorder
with a built-in 2 GB compact flash removable media and can also connect to EFB’s, providing your applications with real-time data connectivity, both on the ground and in the air.
The AFIRS 220 system meets all the certifications and performance standards necessary to support installation on any aircraft model.
