Airlines, leasing companies, fractional owners and original equipment manufacturers have installed the Automated Flight Information Reporting System (AFIRSTM) on their aircraft to capture, process and stream aircraft data with real-time alerts. AFIRS sends this information through satellite networks to the UpTimeTM cloud-based data center, which provides aircraft operators with direct insight into the operational status and health of their aircraft and enables them to take corrective action to maintain the highest standard of operational control.

Job Summary : The electronics Technologist is responsible for all the product manufacturing and repair including analysis of repair, testing and timely manufacturing of the product to meet customer demands. This role works closely with both the Supply Chain and Account Management Team to satisfy customer need. This role also supports the development teams in product testing.

Accountabilities:

Manufacturing of FLYHT products on time

Repair and testing of FLYHT products

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting internal and external customers
  • Product manufacturing in accordance with aerospace industry standards.
  • Inspection and testing of incoming product
  • Inspection, analysis, repair, and testing of warranty and non-warranty product
  • Supporting hardware and software teams on product development and projects.
  • Inspecting product repairs and production work.
  • Maintaining test equipment and production lab.
  • Developing test procedures
  • Developing test equipment
  • Providing external and customer support requests for modem activation and deactivation
  • Support customers by utilizing the FLYHT RMA process
  • Work with Supply Chain organization to find efficiency improvements and support customer demand

Qualifications

Aeronautical, Mechanical or Electronics/Electronical Engineering Technology Diploma or equivalent experience (licensed AME)

  • Ability to read and comprehend wiring schematics and technical drawings
  • Experience with electronics and test equipment
  • Soldering experience
  • Experience with Linux is an asset
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment
  • High level of initiative with ability to self-manage
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • New grads and 1 to 3 years’ experience are ideal candidates
